Parasakthi is a 1952 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Krishnan–Panju and written by M. Karunanidhi. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, S. V. Sahasranamam, S. S. Rajendran, Sriranjani Jr., and Pandari Bai. It is the cinematic acting debut of Ganesan and Rajendran. Based on Pavalar Balasundaram's play of the same name, Parasakthi narrates the misfortunes that befall the members of a Tamil family during World War II. Ponaka Kanakamma (1892–1963) was a social worker, activist and freedom fighter, got imprisoned over two years. She founded Sri Kasturidevi Vidyalayam, a school for girls in Nellore. She has implemented many social reforming activities under the name of Sujanaranjani Samajam. She had also contributed to Telugu Literature by writing poems, essays, columns and translations , that too without formal education. She has dedicated 45 years of her life for social causes. Raj Kiran Mahtani is a bollywood actor. He made his debut in B. R. Ishara's Kaagaz Ki Nao (1975) and achieved the crest of his career in the 1980s, having appeared in more than 100 films. He disappeared from the industry and was thought to be living as a recluse in the United States for many years. Rishi Kapoor was reportedly told by Gobind Mahtani, the brother of Raj Kiran that the actor was in Atlanta in an asylum where he was living due to a mental illness. In 2011, his daughter issued a public statement negating the reports of Raj Kiran being found in Atlanta. She and her family have been looking for him with the assistance of New York police and private detectives for years.

Chenchaiah studied agriculture at the University of California at Berkeley. There, he met Indian revolutionary Lala Haradayal. Along with Jitendranath Lahari, he founded the Gaddar Party. While transporting ammunition for revolutionaries , Chenchaiah was arrested and imprisoned in several jails for a term of four and a half years by the British government . Out of his 36 years of public life, he spent nearly 8 years in prison for the cause of freedom of the nation.
